OnFoods is a partner and patron of Rom-E, an event dedicated to sustainability that will take place in the heart of Rome from 4th to 6th October 2024.
Topics
Rom-E will kick off on 4th October with a conference at the Casa del Cinema in Villa Borghese, addressing various topics related to environmental sustainability. These range from energy to new mobility, including the food sector, which is the main reason for this partnership.
The OnFoods Foundation will be represented by Professor Donini from the Sapienza University of Rome, who will provide an overview of the OnFoods project: what it is, how it can contribute to the sustainable development of the food sector, and the positive environmental impacts of this approach.
Prof. Donini on the OnFoods project:
The OnFoods project is part of Mission 4 "From research to enterprise" of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU, specifically within the PE10 framework dedicated to promoting "Models for sustainable nutrition." The many partners involved (26 including universities, institutional bodies, and companies in the agri-food sector), along with more than 600 researchers engaged in over 300 research projects, share the common goal of promoting a sustainable agri-food supply chain (from Farm to Fork), contributing significantly to the achievement of many of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
This valuable partnership between Rom-E and OnFoods opens up new possibilities for disseminating research in the food sector and for potential new collaborations.
Following the conference, on 5th and 6th October, there will be two exhibition days in the heart of Rome, where various companies will present to the public their contributions and green initiatives.
The event will take place in some of the city’s most prestigious locations: at Viale delle Magnolie in Villa Borghese and Piazza Mignanelli. The aim is to combine beauty and innovation, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the historical wonders of the capital while discovering solutions for sustainable living.
