The "G. De Felice Giuffrida – Olivetti" Secondary School hosted a group of researchers from the University of Catania for an outreach activity with students.
The research presented focused on the analysis and measurement of specific indicators designed to assess the circularity of the economy in the agri-food sector—an area with significant environmental impact. In particular, the study addressed the wine, olive oil, and cereal industries.
The University of Catania researchers also examined consumer perceptions of food innovation: social and cultural acceptance of new foods, including novel foods and reformulated products; the role of new technologies combined with innovative distribution channels; sustainable packaging solutions serving multiple objectives; and efficient communication systems.
The students actively participated in the discussion, offering fresh perspectives on sustainable food and nutrition.
